Ingredients
- 1 cup (240 ml) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) cane sugar, plus more for sprinkling
- 11/2 teaspoon (28 ml) s baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) sea salt
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk
- 4 tablespoon (60 ml) s unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the baking dish
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- Heaping 2 cup (480 ml) s blackberries
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Turn on your oven to 350°F and coat an 8×8-inch or similar-sized baking dish with a layer of melted butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cane sugar, baking powder, and sea salt thoroughly using a whisk. Then, incorporate the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until the mixture is smooth.
- Transfer this mixture into the greased baking dish. Distribute the blackberries evenly on the surface, then sprinkle with additional cane sugar.
- Place in the oven and bake for 50 to 65 minutes, until the edges are a rich golden brown and the center is slightly puffed and set. Let it cool for a bit, then serve warm accompanied by vanilla ice cream.
