Description
A bold and flavorful marinade featuring maple syrup, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard that enhances the natural taste of venison steak.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound venison steak
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, smoked paprika, and olive oil to create the marinade.
- Place the venison steak in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the meat is well coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and cook in the skillet for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is achieved.
- Let the steak rest before slicing and serve.
Notes
Letting the steak rest after cooking helps redistribute juices for tenderness. Consider pairing with seasonal vegetables or salads.
