Description

A bold and flavorful marinade featuring maple syrup, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard that enhances the natural taste of venison steak.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound venison steak

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, smoked paprika, and olive oil to create the marinade.
  2. Place the venison steak in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the meat is well coated.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
  4. Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and cook in the skillet for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is achieved.
  6. Let the steak rest before slicing and serve.

Notes

Letting the steak rest after cooking helps redistribute juices for tenderness. Consider pairing with seasonal vegetables or salads.
