Description

A gourmet venison dish featuring tender steaks in a rich Dijon mustard and cream sauce, garnished with earthy mushrooms and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • 2 venison steaks
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
  2. Season the venison steaks with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your preferred level of doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced shallot and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until the mushrooms are browned and the shallots are translucent.
  4. Stir in the Dijon mustard, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Let the mixture simmer until it reduces slightly.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until well combined.
  6. Return the steaks to the skillet and coat them with the sauce.
  7. Serve the steaks hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Pay attention to cooking times and allow steaks to rest for optimal tenderness.
