Description

Delightful venison steak bites paired with a creamy horseradish dipping sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) venison steak
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) horseradish
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the venison steak into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the venison cubes to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the spice mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the venison cubes to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your liking.
  6. Remove venison from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix together sour cream, horseradish, mayonnaise, and lemon juice.
  8. Stir in the chopped chives and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Transfer the venison steak bites to a serving platter and serve hot with the creamy horseradish dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

Allow venison to rest after cooking for juiciness, and consider experimenting with different seasonings.
