A hearty and nourishing venison chili that brings together robust flavors for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground venison
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups beef bone broth
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the chopped bacon over medium heat in a large pot or slow cooker until crispy.
- Add the ground venison and cook until browned.
- Stir in the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and carrots. Cook until vegetables are soft.
- Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef bone broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes on the stovetop or for 2-3 hours in the slow cooker.
Notes
For best results, allow chili to simmer longer. Flavors improve if stored overnight in the refrigerator.
