Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Grease two 8-inch round cake pans with butter and sprinkle with flour.
- Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Mix everything together until smooth and well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a plate, spreading half the whipped cream over, and decorating with half of the sliced strawberries.
- Repeat with the second layer, creating a stunning presentation.
