- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 medium white onion, chopped
- 1 jalapeño pepper, minced
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon Mexican oregano
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth for about 30-60 seconds.
- Pour the marinade over your chosen cut of meat in a large bowl or resealable bag, ensuring the meat is thoroughly coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Discard the used marinade before grilling the meat on medium-high heat, cooking until perfectly charred on both sides.
- Let the meat rest before slicing against the grain and serving it with toppings like cilantro and lime.
Notes
Marinating overnight yields the best flavor. Avoid over-marinating to prevent a tangy taste.
