Description

Learn how to create a stunning Thanksgiving Turkey Charcuterie Board that will wow your guests! Get step-by-step instructions and tips on our site.

Ingredients

  • – 1 pear (240g), sliced in half
  • – cheese slices, cut into two round pieces for eyes and two triangles for the legs and feet
  • – 2 mini chocolate chips or mini raisins for the pupils in each eye
  • – Optional: use pretzel sticks for the legs and feet instead
  • – Assortment of sliced cheeses (Cheddar, Gouda, Swiss, Havarti)
  • – Sliced turkey meat
  • – Sliced beef salami
  • – Mini beef sausages
  • – Assortment of crackers
  • – Grapes
  • – Almonds or other nuts (Pecans, Cashews, Walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the serving board and any decorative elements around it. If you’d like to add any cheese messages using small alphabet cookie cutters, cut them out now and put them aside, or place them directly on the board where desired.
  2. Slice a pear in two and shape it into a turkey. Craft cheese pieces to form the eyes, beak, and legs; pretzels can be used instead for the legs if preferred. Insert small raisins or mini chocolate chips into the center of the circular cheese pieces for the eyes. For now, set the turkey creation on a separate plate.
  3. Begin by arranging the lower outer layer first. In my case, I started with cheese to form the outer feathers of the turkey.
  4. Position the assembled pear turkey body onto the board or plate. This will help you organize the rest of the items around it. Scatter some almonds or other nuts at the base to mimic the ground the turkey stands on. You may also add sprigs of rosemary, thyme, or sage to this bottom layer for additional texture.
  5. Proceed by layering the turkey slices, as they are larger and can accommodate other items on top if needed.
  6. Next, arrange the crackers and then add other meats such as salami or small beef sausages.
  7. Fill any empty spaces with additional cheese triangles to form feathers and include grapes. Continue filling in any remaining gaps with more meats, cheeses, nuts, or fruits until the board is complete. Feel free to rearrange items for optimal appearance. In the end, you will have created an attractive Thanksgiving turkey charcuterie board!

Notes

  • Use a variety of sliced cheeses such as Cheddar, Gouda, and Havarti to introduce diverse flavors and textures to the charcuterie board.
  • Feel free to swap pretzel sticks for the legs and feet of the pear turkey to offer a crunchy alternative.
  • Remember to scatter almonds or other nuts at the turkey’s base to replicate the ground it stands on and enhance the visual appeal of the board.
