Description

A sweet and tangy homemade steak sauce inspired by Texas Roadhouse, perfect for drizzling over grilled meats or as a dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Whisk thoroughly until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Blend these ingredients well.
  3. Transfer the sauce to a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool. Store in a sealable jar or bottle in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

Adjust sweetness or tanginess to your preference by varying the amounts of sugar and vinegar. For added heat, consider incorporating cayenne pepper.
