Description

These ground venison quesadillas are easy to make, filled with spiced meat, cheese, and colorful vegetables, perfect for busy nights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground venison
  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1-2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sour cream (for serving)
  • Salsa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the chopped onion and bell peppers. Sauté until they soften, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ground venison to the pan. Cook until the meat browns, stirring occasionally. Season with cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a tortilla in a separate pan over medium heat. Sprinkle cheese on one half, then add a portion of the ground venison mixture. Fold the tortilla and cook until golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Flip the quesadilla and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Serve hot with sour cream and salsa.

Notes

Experiment with different cheese varieties and feel free to add your favorite vegetables or spices.
