These ground venison quesadillas are easy to make, filled with spiced meat, cheese, and colorful vegetables, perfect for busy nights or family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground venison
- 4 flour tortillas
- 1 cup cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1-2 bell peppers, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Sour cream (for serving)
- Salsa (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the chopped onion and bell peppers. Sauté until they soften, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and ground venison to the pan. Cook until the meat browns, stirring occasionally. Season with cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Place a tortilla in a separate pan over medium heat. Sprinkle cheese on one half, then add a portion of the ground venison mixture. Fold the tortilla and cook until golden, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the quesadilla and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
- Repeat with remaining tortillas. Serve hot with sour cream and salsa.
