Description
A decadent and moist banana bread bursting with semi-sweet chocolate chips, perfect for cozy mornings.
Ingredients
- 1 and ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 and ½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3-4 medium-sized bananas)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan with a light coat of cooking spray or parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended. Gently fold in the mashed ripe bananas.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients and chocolate chips into the banana mixture. Mix until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top. Bake in the center of the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice while still warm or let it rest until room temperature. Enjoy!
Notes
For best results, use ripe bananas with plenty of speckles for maximum sweetness.
