A hearty and comforting stovetop creamy ground beef pasta that’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream
- 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 8 oz uncooked pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 sweet yellow onion (chopped)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente, following the package instructions.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until translucent.
- Add ground beef and minced garlic, cooking for about 8 minutes until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Mix in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 3-5 minutes, letting it heat through and thicken.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and toss the sauce with the drained pasta.
- Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese if desired and serve.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
