Description

A hearty and comforting stovetop creamy ground beef pasta that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 8 oz uncooked pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 sweet yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente, following the package instructions.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef and minced garlic, cooking for about 8 minutes until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Mix in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 3-5 minutes, letting it heat through and thicken.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and toss the sauce with the drained pasta.
  7. Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese if desired and serve.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
