Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (15 ml)
  • 3 medium zucchinis (about 600 g)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (5 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (5 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (8 g)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the zucchinis thoroughly.
  2. Use a spiralizer to cut the zucchinis into noodle-like strands.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce, sriracha sauce, sesame oil, and sugar.
  6. Add the crushed red pepper flakes and ground black pepper to the pan.
  7. Cook the sauce mixture for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Add the zucchini noodles to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
  9. Cook the noodles for 3-4 minutes, until they are tender but still crisp.
  10. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the chopped green onions.
  11. Transfer the zucchini noodles to a serving dish.
  12. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the top before serving.

Notes

  • Enhance spiciness by adjusting chili sauce or adding more red pepper flakes to your preference.
  • Infuse more flavor by marinating zucchini noodles in the sauce for 10-15 minutes before cooking.
  • Ensure zucchini noodles are cooked until tender yet slightly crisp; avoid overcooking to maintain texture.
