Description

A simple and quick recipe for crafting delightful sourdough bread in just one day, bringing warmth and flavor to your meals.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
  2. Add the active sourdough starter and warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise at room temperature for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  6. Once the dough has risen, shape it into a loaf and place it on parchment paper.
  7. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside (with parchment), cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use an active sourdough starter and create a warm proofing environment for your dough.
