Ingredients
- – 1 1/2 cups (355 ml) packed cooked spaghetti squash
- – 1 cup (240 ml) panko bread crumbs
- – 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded alternative cheese
- – 1 large egg
Instructions
- Cut the cooked spaghetti squash into small fragments so that it looks like shredded squash.
- In a big bowl, combine all the ingredients.
- Use a spoon to stir until the mixture is fully blended and moistened.
- Set your oven to preheat at 400°F.
- Cover a large baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Take 1 tablespoon of the squash mixture and press it firmly between your palms several times.
- This will release some liquid, which helps to moisten and bind the mixture.
- Shape it gently into a cylindrical form, then place it on the baking sheet.
- Repeat the process with the remaining mixture, keeping each tot about 1/2 inch apart.
- You should end up with around 25 tots.
- Bake them for approximately 18-20 minutes until the bottoms are golden and crispy.
- Turn them over and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Enjoy them warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Thoroughly drain cooked spaghetti squash to remove excess moisture before mixing with other ingredients.
- Experiment with different alternative cheeses to find the best one for your taste preferences.
- For a crispier texture, lightly spray the tots with cooking spray before baking.
