Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 cup of grated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of urad dal
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1-2 dried red chilies
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh curry leaves


Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once fluffy, set it aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and urad dal, allowing them to splutter.
  3. Add chopped green chilies, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the grated coconut and turmeric powder, cooking for a few minutes while stirring often.
  5. Finally, mix in the cooked rice and salt, ensuring everything combines well.
  6. Serve hot.
