Description

Delightful cinnamon sugar crisps made from sourdough discard, offering a perfect balance of crunch and sweetness.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Additional sugar and cinnamon for topping


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough discard, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Add melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Cut into desired shapes and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. If desired, sprinkle additional sugar and cinnamon on top.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the dough. Ensure even baking by spacing the crisps apart on the baking sheet.
