Ingredients
- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, milk, and sugar until smooth.
- Add the softened butter and eggs; blend well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1-2 hours).
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and place in a greased bread pan to rise again until nearly doubled.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing and enjoy!
