Delicious smash burgers reimagined as tacos, combining all the classic burger flavors with fresh toppings in a soft flour tortilla.
Ingredients
- ½ cup mayo
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped dill pickles
- ½ teaspoon pickle juice
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- â…› teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 6 slices American cheese
- 6 street taco-sized flour tortillas
- Shredded lettuce
- Burger pickles
- Optional toppings: bacon, thin white onions
Instructions
- Combine the burger sauce ingredients in a small bowl and stir well. Set the bowl aside.
- Mix the ground beef with ¾ teaspoon of kosher salt and ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper in a separate bowl. Divide the mixture into six equal balls.
- Prepare the cooking area with tortillas, cheese, and prepared toppings easily accessible.
- Preheat your flat top griddle to medium-high heat.
- Place the beef balls onto the griddle and flatten each ball with a burger press for 15 to 20 seconds to form thin patties.
- Cook the patties for about 40 seconds, adding additional seasoning if desired.
- Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Meanwhile, place the tortillas on the griddle.
- Close the lid and cook for roughly two minutes, then flip the tortillas for even toasting.
- Lift the patties with a spatula and place them onto the warm tortillas. Add desired toppings like shredded lettuce, burger sauce, and pickles.
Notes
Warm your tortillas slightly before assembly to prevent tearing. Consider using high-quality ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness.
