Ingredients
- 454 g lean ground beef (1 lb)
- 411 g fire-roasted diced tomatoes (1 can)
- 240 ml cooked rice (1 cup)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) ketchup
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground black pepper
- 6 green bell peppers, tops and seeds removed (reserve tops)
- 80 ml water (1/3 cup)
Instructions
- Warm a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir until it is browned and breaks apart, about 5 to 7 minutes; remove and dispose of excess fat.
- Combine the cooked beef, diced tomatoes, rice, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Fill each green bell pepper with the beef mixture.
- Place the filled bell peppers in the slow cooker; replace the tops on each pepper. Pour water around the peppers’ bases.
- Set the cooker to Low and let it cook for 6 to 8 hours.

- Make sure to remove any excess fat after browning the beef to prevent a greasy filling.
