Ingredients
- 8 cube steaks
- Flour (for dredging)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Garlic powder (to taste)
- Onion powder (to taste)
- Seasoning salt (to taste)
- 4 tbsp bacon grease
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups hot water
- 6 tbsp brown gravy mix
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp black pepper
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- In a rimmed container, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to create a dredging mixture.
- Season each cube steak generously with seasoning salt.
- Heat bacon grease in a large pan over medium heat.
- Fry each cube steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Once browned, transfer the steaks to a slow cooker and pour any remaining grease and food bits from the pan into the cooker for flavor.
- In a separate bowl, mix hot water, beef broth, gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Pour this mixture over the cube steaks, ensuring they are barely covered.
- Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
