Description

Warm, gooey salted caramel cookies that blend buttery richness with sweet, chewy caramel for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel chips
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • ½ tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Scoop the dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle the dough balls with flaky sea salt before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, avoid overbaking. You can experiment with different types of chips for unique flavors.
