Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef (450 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) mushrooms, finely chopped (75 grams)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil (15 milliliters)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt (2.5 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (1.5 grams)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) mayonnaise (15 grams)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) mustard (15 grams)
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until soft.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mushroom mixture cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, cooked mushrooms, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients until well combined.
- Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
- Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last 2 minutes of baking.
- While the patties are baking, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard in a small bowl.
- Spread the mayonnaise-mustard mixture on the cut sides of the hamburger buns.
- Toast the buns lightly in a skillet or toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top each patty with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and sliced red onions.
- Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
- Serve immediately while warm.
