Description

Delightful ricotta chocolate chip pastry squares, combining flaky puff pastry with creamy ricotta and melty chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 9 tablespoons (135g) ricotta cheese
  • 9 tablespoons (126g) chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coarse/turbinado/demerara sugar
  • 1 egg, whisked

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F (177C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet on a clean surface and cut it into 9 even squares using a pizza cutter.
  3. Place each square on the parchment-lined baking pan.
  4. Add about 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese to the center of each square, leaving a 1-2 cm margin around the edge.
  5. Brush the exposed pastry edges with the whisked egg.
  6. Sprinkle approximately 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips onto each ricotta-filled square, then sprinkle a little sugar on top.
  7. Bake at 350F (177C) for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold for best results. Use high-quality ricotta for optimal flavor.
