Delightful ricotta chocolate chip pastry squares, combining flaky puff pastry with creamy ricotta and melty chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 9 tablespoons (135g) ricotta cheese
- 9 tablespoons (126g) chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coarse/turbinado/demerara sugar
- 1 egg, whisked
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350F (177C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet on a clean surface and cut it into 9 even squares using a pizza cutter.
- Place each square on the parchment-lined baking pan.
- Add about 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese to the center of each square, leaving a 1-2 cm margin around the edge.
- Brush the exposed pastry edges with the whisked egg.
- Sprinkle approximately 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips onto each ricotta-filled square, then sprinkle a little sugar on top.
- Bake at 350F (177C) for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
Keep puff pastry cold for best results. Use high-quality ricotta for optimal flavor.
