Description

Deliciously flaky and cheesy biscuits that bring comfort and warmth to any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese and sourdough discard until evenly mixed.
  5. Gradually add milk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown on the top.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle additional cheddar on top before baking. Experiment with different cheeses and herbs for unique variations.
