Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese and sourdough discard until evenly mixed.
- Gradually add milk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown on the top.
Notes
For added flavor, sprinkle additional cheddar on top before baking. Experiment with different cheeses and herbs for unique variations.
