Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (plus more for topping)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheet into 4×4 inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until soft and creamy.
  4. Place 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese filling in the center of each puff pastry square.
  5. Fold one tip over the filling, followed by folding the diagonal tip to close the quesito.
  6. Mix the egg with the granulated sugar and brush it over the quesitos.
  7. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle with more powdered sugar on top and serve.

Notes

Pay attention to baking time and allow pastries to cool slightly before serving. Feel free to experiment with the filling by adding citrus zest or spices.
