A comforting and nourishing bake that combines the delicious flavors of pizza with the creamy texture of cottage cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 cups full-fat cottage cheese
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 1 cup pasta sauce (marinara or pizza sauce)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup mixed pizza toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Combine the cottage cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, eggs, oregano, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well blended.
- Spread a layer of pasta sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon half of the cottage cheese mixture over the sauce, smoothing it out evenly.
- Sprinkle half of your desired pizza toppings over this mixture.
- Pour another layer of pasta sauce on top, followed by the remaining cottage cheese mixture.
- Finish with the remaining toppings and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Consider adding fresh herbs to the cottage cheese mixture for added flavor. For a crispier topping, broil for the last few minutes of baking while watching closely.
