Description

A comforting twist on pizza night with hearty ground beef, colorful veggies, and gooey cheese rolled in tender pizza dough.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) bottle Parmesan-peppercorn dressing, divided


Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef, chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Unroll the pizza dough on a greased rimmed baking sheet and press it into a large rectangle.
  4. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough.
  5. Spread the beef mixture on top, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
  6. Add another cup of shredded cheese on top of the beef.
  7. Drizzle 1/4 cup of the Parmesan-peppercorn dressing over the filling.
  8. Roll the dough starting at one long side, pinching ends to seal.
  9. Arrange the rolled dough seam-side down on the baking sheet and cut slits at 1-inch intervals along the top.
  10. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust is deep golden brown.
  11. Let the stromboli stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the remaining dressing for dipping.

Notes

For a crispier crust, brush the dough with olive oil or melted butter before baking. Experiment with additional fillings such as sautéed mushrooms or jalapeños.
