Description
A comforting twist on pizza night with hearty ground beef, colorful veggies, and gooey cheese rolled in tender pizza dough.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (8-oz) bottle Parmesan-peppercorn dressing, divided
Instructions
- Cook ground beef, chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Unroll the pizza dough on a greased rimmed baking sheet and press it into a large rectangle.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough.
- Spread the beef mixture on top, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
- Add another cup of shredded cheese on top of the beef.
- Drizzle 1/4 cup of the Parmesan-peppercorn dressing over the filling.
- Roll the dough starting at one long side, pinching ends to seal.
- Arrange the rolled dough seam-side down on the baking sheet and cut slits at 1-inch intervals along the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust is deep golden brown.
- Let the stromboli stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the remaining dressing for dipping.
Notes
For a crispier crust, brush the dough with olive oil or melted butter before baking. Experiment with additional fillings such as sautéed mushrooms or jalapeños.
