Ingredients

  • 5-2 lbs flank steak (680-907 g), sirloin steak or ground beef will also work
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color of choice), chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 Tbsp (23 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 4-6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) pepper
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) paprika
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) Montreal steak seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm up some oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. Toss in the diced onions and chopped bell peppers. Allow them to soften and become tender, which should take roughly 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, oregano, marjoram, and steak seasoning.
  3. Introduce the chopped steak to the pan with the vegetables. Stir in all the seasonings with the steak and peppers, then drizzle in the Worcestershire sauce. Cook the steak for a few minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  4. When the steak is nearly cooked, place the provolone slices over the mixture in the pan. Remove it from the heat and cover with a lid to let the cheese melt.
