Ingredients
- 5-2 lbs flank steak (680-907 g), sirloin steak or ground beef will also work
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 2 bell peppers (any color of choice), chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 5 Tbsp (23 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 4-6 slices provolone cheese
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) pepper
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) paprika
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) onion powder
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried marjoram
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) Montreal steak seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Warm up some oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. Toss in the diced onions and chopped bell peppers. Allow them to soften and become tender, which should take roughly 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, oregano, marjoram, and steak seasoning.
- Introduce the chopped steak to the pan with the vegetables. Stir in all the seasonings with the steak and peppers, then drizzle in the Worcestershire sauce. Cook the steak for a few minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
- When the steak is nearly cooked, place the provolone slices over the mixture in the pan. Remove it from the heat and cover with a lid to let the cheese melt.
