Ingredients

  • 1 large head of green cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (30 ml)
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (1 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (1 g)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15 ml)
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage.
  3. Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick rounds or “steaks.”
  4. Arrange the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  6. Brush the garlic oil mixture evenly over both sides of each cabbage steak.
  7. Roast the cabbage in the oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Remove from the oven when the edges are crisp and browned.
  9. Drizzle the roasted cabbage steaks with lemon juice.
