Ingredients
- 1 small head cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)
- 1 pound ground beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based option
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large egg (optional, for binding)
- 1 cup cheese (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare a baking sheet by lightly greasing it or using parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Brush olive oil on both sides of the cabbage slices.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg (if using). Mix until well blended.
- Place a generous portion of the meat mixture on each cabbage slice, forming a patty.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the cabbage is tender and the meat is fully cooked.
- Sprinkle cheese on top during the last few minutes of baking, allowing it to melt perfectly.
