Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s avocado oil
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon filets, (Alaskan Sockeye or Coho)
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s honey
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s tamari
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) thyme, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) arrowroot flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) water


Instructions

  1. Dry the salmon using a paper towel and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  2. Warm up the avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and place the salmon in the pan, cooking for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. While the salmon is cooking, combine the arrowroot flour with water to create a slurry, and set it aside.
  4. After the salmon is done, move it to a separate dish.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and sauté the minced garlic in the same pan for half a minute. Add the orange juice, honey, tamari, thyme, and arrowroot mixture, and whisk everything together for 1-2 minutes until it slightly thickens.
  6. Return the salmon to the pan and drizzle the glaze over it before serving.
