Description

A comforting classic made with tender beef, savory vegetables, and a rich sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds of beef round steak, tenderized
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Season the beef steak generously on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Brown the steak on both sides in the skillet, then remove it and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onions, bell peppers, and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the browned steak to the skillet, then add the tomato sauce, beef broth, garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir well to combine.
  6. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 120-180 minutes, or until the beef becomes fork-tender.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

Allow the steak to marinate in the seasonings for a few hours or overnight for enhanced flavors.
