Description

A hearty and nostalgic meatloaf recipe that evokes warm family memories, featuring a blend of ground beef, breadcrumbs, and classic seasonings, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus more for topping)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/2 cup ketchup, onion, bell pepper, eggs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. Spread additional ketchup on top of the meatloaf for a glaze.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added moisture, finely grated vegetables like carrots or zucchini can be mixed into the meatloaf. Leftovers can be repurposed into sandwiches or pasta dishes.
