Description

A wholesome and comforting baked dish combining oats and juicy apples, perfect for breakfast or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 ½ cups milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 large apple, diced
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir in old-fashioned oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apple and chopped nuts (if using).
  5. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or refrigerate for later.

Notes

For a creamier texture, let oats soak in milk for 15 minutes before baking. Customize with additional fruits or spices as desired.
