Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs sirloin or tenderloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for searing)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (cornstarch slurry)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak bites until browned on all sides if desired.
- Transfer the seared steak to a slow cooker.
- Pour honey garlic sauce over the steak and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.
- For a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
Notes
Using a meat thermometer helps in achieving the perfect level of doneness. Consider using tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
