Description

Soft and chewy cookies with a hint of maple sweetness, perfect for gatherings and creating cherished moments.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for frosting)
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (for consistency)
  • Optional: a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mix to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed.
  5. Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them on prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them. Flatten each ball slightly.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth for frosting. Drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Allow cookies to cool completely before frosting to avoid melting. Experiment with adding chocolate chips or nuts for a twist.
