Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef (450 grams)
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced (about 300 grams)
- 1 medium onion, chopped (about 150 grams)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil (15 milliliters)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt (5 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (2.5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried oregano (1 gram)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried basil (1 gram)
- 1 cup (240 ml) diced tomatoes (240 milliliters)
- 1 cup (240 ml) shredded mozzarella cheese (about 100 grams)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet.
- Cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Season the beef with salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Stir in the sliced zucchinis, mixing well.
- Cook until the zucchinis are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes to the skillet.
- Stir well and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
