Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef (900 g)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) onion powder
  • 1 pound cooked beef bacon, cut into pieces (450 g)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (240 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground black pepper
  • 1 (340 g) package shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to preheat.
  2. In a large nonstick frying pan, cook the beef with garlic and onion powder over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the meat is browned and breaks apart easily, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and remove the excess fat.
  3. Move the cooked beef to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Add the sliced cooked bacon and mix well, ensuring an even layer.
  4. In a medium-sized bowl, beat the eggs with the cream, salt, and black pepper until thoroughly mixed. Add in three-quarters of the mozzarella cheese and combine. Pour this mixture over the beef in the baking dish, then scatter the remaining mozzarella on top.
  5. Place in the preheated oven and bake until the top is golden brown, approximately 30 to 35 minutes.
