Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
  • 2 peaches, peeled and chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy in another bowl.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Fold in the dried lavender and chopped peaches gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.
