Description
Delicious and refreshing Key Lime Pie served in charming mason jars, perfect for individual servings and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup bottled lime juice
- Zest of 1-2 limes (to taste)
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Begin by making the crust. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar, mixing until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of your mason jars, creating a solid layer.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk without any lumps remaining.
- Next, add the lime juice and zest to the cream cheese mixture. Blend thoroughly until everything is well incorporated, creating a velvety filling.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold this whipped cream into your lime mixture, maintaining its airy texture.
- Layer the filling on top of the crust in each jar. Aim for an even distribution to ensure every bite has the same delightful taste.
- Chill the jars in the refrigerator for at least 180 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Notes
Taste the filling as you make it; additional lime juice or zest can enhance the flavor. These desserts can be made a day in advance for intensified flavor.
