A low-carb twist on the classic cheesesteak, these roll-ups are filled with savory ground beef or turkey and melted Monterey Jack cheese, all wrapped in crisp lettuce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Lettuce leaves (for wrapping)
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until softened, stirring often.
- Add the ground meat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Make sure it browns evenly.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing well to incorporate all flavors.
- Remove the mixture from heat and add the shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Stir until melted and combined.
- Place a portion of the meat and cheese mixture onto a lettuce leaf, then wrap it up!
- Serve the roll-ups warm and enjoy!
