Description

Learn how to make delicious Keto Mozzarella Sticks that are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Perfect for a low-carb snack or appetizer!

Ingredients

  • – 6 beef cheese sticks (150g) part skim low moisture cheese
  • – 1 1/2 cups (180g) bread crumbs
  • – 1/2 cup (50g) grated cheese
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Italian seasoning (optional)
  • – 1 large egg
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) water

Instructions

  1. Slice each beef cheese stick into two parts and set them aside. In a powerful blender or food processor, combine the bread crumbs, grated cheese, and Italian seasoning, and blend until the mixture is finely ground.
  2. Transfer the crumb mixture into a bowl. In another bowl, beat the egg and water together until well mixed.
  3. Working quickly, coat each cheese stick by dipping it into the egg mixture, then into the crumb mixture, and repeat the process once more. Arrange the coated cheese sticks on a plate lined with parchment paper. Freeze them for two hours.
  4. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of oil into a non-stick skillet and heat over medium flame. Once the oil is hot, take the cheese sticks out of the freezer and place them in the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes, then turn them over and cook for an additional 3 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  5. Remove the cheese sticks from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with a paper towel. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Consider using whole wheat bread crumbs for added fiber and nutrients.
  • Add garlic powder or paprika to the crumb mixture for extra flavor.
  • Ensure the oil is sufficiently hot before frying to achieve a crispy exterior.
