Ingredients
- – 350 ml (12 fl oz) egg whites
- – 60 g (2 oz) beef protein powder, unflavoured, 2 scoops
- – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) Cream of Tartar
- – vegetable oil for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Set your convection oven to 160°C (320°F) to preheat.
- In a large, clean bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until they reach stiff peaks, which should take about 5-8 minutes. You may use a stand mixer or a hand-held electric mixer for this.
- Introduce the beef protein powder and Cream of Tartar into the egg whites, and blend on a low setting until the mixture is smooth and evenly colored.
- Lightly coat a bread loaf pan with vegetable oil, then line it with parchment paper. For easier handling, crumple the parchment paper into a ball, then flatten it out to fit the pan’s shape.
- Transfer the egg white mixture into the loaf pan, allowing it to rise above the pan’s edge. Shape it into a loaf using the back of a spoon, and place it in the oven to bake for 30 minutes.
- After the baking time is done, switch off the oven and wedge a kitchen towel in the oven door to leave it slightly open. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes to cool gradually, which helps in preventing the loaf from collapsing.
- Take the loaf out of the oven and cut it into 10 thick pieces. Each slice contains specific nutritional values.
- Store these pieces in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze them with parchment paper between each slice for up to 2 weeks.
