Description

Mini Caprese bites capture the essence of simplicity and flavor, combining cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil into vibrant appetizers perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes (approximately 20–25 tomatoes)
  • 1 container (8 ounces) mini mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 20–25 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling
  • 20–25 toothpicks or mini skewers

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves under cool water and pat them dry with a cloth or paper towels.
  2. Drain the mini mozzarella balls and gently blot them to remove excess moisture.
  3. Take a toothpick and slide on a cherry tomato, followed by a basil leaf (folded if large), and then a mozzarella ball. Gently press the ingredients together.
  4. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used up.
  5. Place the mini Caprese bites on a serving tray.
  6. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  7. Just before serving, finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

Notes

Serve on a colorful platter or tiered stand for visual appeal. These bites are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
