Ingredients
- Ground beef – 1 lb (450 g)
- Onion, finely chopped – 1 small
- Garlic, minced – 3 cloves

- Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon (5 g)
- Ground coriander – 1 teaspoon (5 g)

- Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g)
- Bread crumbs – 1/4 cup (30 g)
- Egg – 1 large
- For the Creamy Garlic Yogurt Sauce:
- Plain yogurt – 1 cup (240 ml)
- Garlic, minced – 2 cloves
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g)
- Black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 g)
- Fresh dill, chopped – 1 tablespoon (3 g)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, finely chopped onion, and minced garlic.
- Add fresh cilantro and parsley to the chicken mixture.
- Sprinkle in ground cumin, ground coriander, ground paprika, and ground cinnamon.
- Season the mixture with salt and black pepper.
- Add bread crumbs and crack an egg into the bowl.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small oval-shaped koftas.
- Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat.
- Cook the koftas for about 5-6 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- While the koftas cook, prepare the yogurt sauce.
- In a separate bowl, combine plain yogurt with minced garlic.
- Stir in lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Add freshly chopped dill to the yogurt mixture and mix well.
- Once the koftas are cooked, remove them from the heat.
- Serve the chicken koftas warm with the creamy garlic yogurt sauce on the side.
