Description

A delightful cherry cake that combines sweet and tangy flavors, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. Gently fold in the cherries.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
