Description

Savor the deliciousness of tender deer meat cube steaks, seared to perfection and simmered in a rich sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 deer meat cube steaks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 cup beef or venison broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional for creamy gravy)
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Coat the deer meat cube steaks with the mix of flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat the olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and minced garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Pour in the beef or venison broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet for flavor. If desired, stir in the heavy cream.
  5. Return the seared steaks to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm with your choice of sides.

Notes

Check the internal temperature, aiming for at least 145°F for safe consumption. Pair with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
