Description

Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these homemade waffles are the perfect breakfast treat. Serve them with syrup, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings for a delightful start to your day.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1¾ cups milk
  • ½ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until blended.
  3. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the eggs, stirring to combine.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, gently stirring just until combined. The batter will be slightly lumpy.
  5. Lightly spray the waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Pour the recommended amount of batter into the center of the preheated waffle iron.
  7. Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crisp.
  8. Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients or incorporating chocolate chips or fruit into the batter.
