A simple and flavorful sourdough pizza dough made from sourdough starter discard, perfect for creating delicious homemade pizzas.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough starter discard
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, salt, and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
- Gradually add warm water and olive oil to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For a richer flavor, allow the dough to ferment overnight in the refrigerator. Experiment with different toppings for unique pizzas.
